19th Century double-bordered carved giltwood mirror with bevelled-edged glass. The richly carved surround of the outer frame features a full egg & dart border. The ‘eggs’ finished to resemble stone cabochons, and the frame is further ornamented with foliate motifs and scrolls. Fanciful heraldic-style shields link the outer mirrored section to a double border of laurel leaf and lambs’ tongue moulding surrounding the central oval mirror.
