I would like to share with you an unusual and attractive pair of French hand-blocked wallpaper panels, mounted on canvas and set into gilt frames. The panels depict two Greek deities, Mercury, the god of commerce and communication, and Demeter, the goddess of the harvest.
This wallpaper is of an unusual design, not commonly seen, although similar wallpaper, dated to around 1810, does exist in a private home in Lyon, France.
If you are in New York, please stop by to say hello and see these wallpaper panels in person. And don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, of if we can help in any way.
