Early 19th Century flame mahogany bow-front linen press. The upper section of the press features two curved and arched doors framed by elegant spiral columns with acanthus leaf finials. The doors sit beneath a raised shield-shaped pediment with a carved floriate motif at the centre. A band of brass runs along the length of the doors at point of closure. The doors open to reveal five open shelved-drawers with flame mahogany.finishes. The lower section of the press houses four curved deep drawers, two small over two large drawers. The drawers are framed by columns that mirror those to the sides of the upper sections. Ebony stringing highlights the curves throughout, and the press retains its original brass lion-mask drawer-pulls and escutcheons. The entire piece sits on raised, turned bun feet inset into brass caps.
