19th Century Qing Chinese Cantonese Famille Rose Porcelain Lidded Jar. The cannister is of a tubular form and the exterior, finely painted in polychrome enamels, gilt, and iron-red, features four cartouches enclosing courtiers in a palace scene and birds on blossoming sprigs, all above a densely decorated ground with scrolls, blossoms, and butterflies.
