Nailsea Glassworks, in Somerset, England, was known for its distinctively colored and patterned pieces, which they produced from the late 18th century until the mid-19th century. This narrow-necked, handled glass jug is made from striking mottled black-and-white glass, for which Nailsea was known. Similar pieces by Nailsea Glassworks are in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
