This striking set of 19th-century French Restauration transfer-printed tableware consists of 25 plates, and a pitcher, teapot, and sugar bowl. Glazed in the distinctive canary yellow for which the Creil and Monterau potteries where known, these pieces depict a variety of images, including figures representing the twelve months, depictions of ruins, and scenes from the Saint-Pierre novel Paul et Virginie.
France, circa 1830.
