19th Century mahogany and upholstered window seat, as miniature Gainsborough sofa, with a broad seat, camel back and roll arms. The exquisitely carved cabriole legs, in the Chippendale style, terminate in three hairy lion paw feet to the front and simple tapering legs to the rear. The detailed carvings on the front legs feature acanthus leaves, C-scrolls and scallop shells, reflecting neoclassical and European influences of the time. It is covered in a yellow gold damask fabric.
