Item Description

19th Century pair of Victorian silver scallop shell shaped butter dishes on three ball feet, marked Howell & James Limited, Sheffield 1887.  Howell, James & Co. were exhibitors at the Great Exhibition in 1851, the International Exhibition in 1862 and exhibitions at London (1872) and Paris (1867). They ceased trading in the 1920's.
