Early 19th Century Regency pair of mahogany hall chairs by Gillows of London and Lancaster, the carved moulded back with centred armorial shield surmounted with foliate crest flanked with pair of phoenix birds with ribbon motif, all carved in high relief above trailing acanthus leaf detail raised over shaped seat with moulded apron supported on ring turned and octagonal faceted tapering splayed leg, impressed stamp GILLOWS.LANCASTER.
