Pair of Irish Country Lord Lieutenant silver and gilt bullion dress uniform epaulettes. The decorative, stiff-framed epaulettes in very fine silver wire with a smooth finish. The edges trimmed in rolled, twisted wire, framed with fringed shoulder boards embellished with shamrock motif incorporating a cluster of three shamrocks in gilt rolled bullion wire with matching sequins, the button illustrating the Victorian crown surrounded by an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves. The underside of each epaulette with red velvet, silk and leather coverings with centred brass clip passant. Each passant individually marked ‘left’ and ‘right’ with makers stamp, ‘R.Ponder, 37 Duke St., St. James’s, London. Complete with fitted case, circa 1910.
